Review:
This is the fourth movie in the Godwink Christmas series of movies.
This particular movie was inspired by the true love story of Joy & Eric Fellman. Just like the other movies, the basic story of how they met is similar to real life, albeit the entire love story isn't completely true. But then again I expect that as there has to be some embellishment or change to the story to make it work for a 90 minute movie. Even if it is different I still have a fondness for a true story.
For those who don't know a "Godwink" is an event or experience/coincidence that is so astonishing that it is seen as a sign of divine intervention. These love stories and ultimately these movies rely heavily on this premise of a series of coincidences that pave the way for the couple to get together in the end. I myself haven't really had eye opening "Godwink's" in my life, but when you watch a movie that is supposed to be based on the real life experience of two people, it's hard not to see these coincidences so clearly. It's fascinating if you think about it.
So this movie was really slow to begin with and then picked up about mid-way through. It certainly isn't the best of the Godwink Series but I enjoyed it anyway. The story was sweet and actors were well cast. Without giving too much away the story was definitely predictable and then there was a huge detour in the story that was so unexpected. I do have to say that at the end I felt there was too much emphasis on the presence of Joy and her role in Eric's well-being. I found this to be a bit far fetched. Other than that it was a sweet love story.
This is a sweet story that gives you a quick peek into the true love story of two people. It is worth watching at least once.
