Review:
I was pretty underwhelmed by the story of this movie. Rescue Center is in jeopardy because they lose their funding. A missing document could save the center. Yawn. The only thing that saved this movie for me was the performance of Brittany Bristow and the dogs.
I won't waste much time on the plot as I wasn't wowed by it. It wasn't a bad movie, it was an ok movie. It might have ranked higher if it was shown earlier in the year. But to follow movies like "Just One Kiss," and "The Presence of Love", this movie is no where near comparable. Brittany Bristow is fantastic and really held this movie together. Chris McNally was ok albeit I sometimes find it hard to see him play a different role than his character of Lucas on WCTH. I really try not to let this influence me when I watch him but admittedly at times I find it difficult.
Chemistry between the leads was plausible but not electric. The reveal of where the document was hiding? Found that funny. The villain was just plain bad..in a good way. I found that a refreshing change as typically the Hallmark villain is only partly mean. In this case, she was just plain bad from beginning to end. I liked it. Loved the dogs and there were so many of them in the movie.
Anyway, it's not like it was a horrible movie. It's definitely a one and done for me though.
