Review:

Nothing new here with this script unfortunately. Girl has a relative or close acquaintance die and leave her a property that needs fixing up. Person who helps her is an ex-boyfriend. Same story here except it's based in Hawaii.

This story is just plain over done in the Hallmark world and now in the UPtv world. Gemma (Tiffany Smith) comes back home to try and fix up and sell some property that was given to her by her aunt. In this plot however, the aunt noted who her niece was to use as the contractor in her will. Of course it was Gemma's long lost boyfriend from years ago Ben (Trevor Donovan). They have some issues, those resolve super quick and they fall for each other again.

So Tiffany Smith was a new addition for me. I thought she was relatively good in the role. Having said that, man did this script call for Gemma to cry all the time. Just too much crying. Good grief.

Trevor Donovan is a fan favourite for many viewers but for me, I just don't see the appeal. I have seen him in many movies and I can't seem to recall any being stand out worthy performances for me. Again in this role I found him stiff and saw zero chemistry with him or her co-star. Yes he did look great when the shirt came off...I'll give him that.

Other thoughts:

*Gemma's ex-boyfriend was a complete jerk. Not sure how she would ever think she had a future with that guy.

*Not sure how I'm supposed to believe that Ben was able to completely re-haul the property for Gemma in 48 hours when it was a complete dump..but alas it happened.

*Really liked the father in this movie.

*Loved the video message from the deceased aunt at the end that helped change Gemma's mind.

*Not sure how Gemma or her sister would even ponder the thought of selling to developers when their aunts' wishes was to have it restored. Huh?

An ok watch but not one I will remember or watch again. No spark between the leads and an overused plot make this an unforgettable one.
