Review:

So this one is interesting for me. It had a more relaxed feeling which just kept you watching. Definitely more mature than your typical Hallmark movie which was a welcome change. It tackled mature problems and it tackled them well.

Before I get to far into this review, I just want to say that this movie should have been made into a series. It was so interesting and has so much story left to tell. The characters are interesting, the story-lines are relatable and the romance was believable. I would totally watch this unfold every week as I was intrigued and still am. It was too much story for just 2 hours and you were left wanting more. What happened to Boone and Tara? What about the step-daughter? Does she stay permanently in Parable? Does she go back? Does the father come back for her and cause drama between Boone and Tara? So much more!

This movie had an easy flow. It's hard to explain but it just kind of pulled you in. Kavan Smith and Emmanuelle Vaugier were strong leads and gave strong performances. I thought it would be difficult for me to see Kavan as a cowboy but for some reason it wasn't. I liked him. Emmanuelle Vaugier was a strong female lead who had no issues expressing her thoughts. How refreshing. She was upfront with Boone. So different than your typical movie. This lady did not beat around the bush. She liked him, told him and then also expressed her hesitancy. What a breath of fresh air.

And can we talk about Peter Benson? Peter Benson not only directed this movie but he starred as James...the awful dad and ex-husband. Now I like Peter Benson but this guy is always the other man who gets dumped in Hallmark movies. Poor thing. Most of the time you feel for his characters but this time...he was the guy you just had to hate. His character was a jerk and a probably the worst ex-husband and father. Peter Benson was wonderful and played the character of James so well.

The chemistry between Tara and Boone was seen in side glances, disappointed looks at dances, honest talks about mutual attraction, and then cleaning up in the kitchen after water troubles. It was there and it was good.

This was a bit deeper than your regular Hallmark movie. It was a beautiful setting, real life problems, and a natural chemistry. Truly one that can be made into a series or at a minimum a sequel as there is still so much story to tell.
