Review:

I honestly didn't know what to expect from this movie as I didn't really hear much about it before watching it a couple of days ago. I did hear that the two leads would end up sharing the same house under unusual circumstances, which is one of my favourite plot points if done correctly. So I sat down waiting for the "sharing house" plot and was pleasantly surprised. Yes the leads did stay together...but that wasn't the focus of the movie! In fact this was such a small fact in comparison to what else was waiting for our two leads during the rest of the movie. It had a different plot, a mystery, great chemistry, fantastic leads and beautiful scenery.

The good:

*Heather Hemmens - This is the second movie I have seen Heather Hemmens in and she is just so fun to watch. She is a solid Hallmark leading lady and I want to see her in more. This movie was no exception. Hemmens played a strong character who knew who she was and didn't run off to find herself. And can we just point out how beautiful this woman is? In fact so many of the cast members in this movie were beautiful.

*Chemistry - The chemistry between Jade (Hemmens) and Ford (Blain) was fantastic. It was evident from the first time they met. They had an ease working beside each other and it showed on screen. I enjoyed this coupling and enjoyed their story.

*Location/Scenery - The location of this movie had to be one of my favourite locations of all time. This island was beautiful. I'm not sure where they were or if it was even mentioned in the movie but it doesn't matter...I want to go there. The beaches, the water...a vacation dream. What a phenomenal place to film a movie. I got lost on vacation when I was watching this movie.

*Supporting cast - I really enjoyed the supporting cast. I felt like everyone worked well together and everything blended well. I did chuckle a bit especially when how quickly news traveled about the reporters being in town.

The not as good:

*Slow - Although I enjoyed the movie, it was super slow in parts. Perhaps it's because we're all supposed to be on vacation and in a relaxed mood but nevertheless parts of this movie just dragged on.

*Ford's secret - There was a bit of intrigue at first about Ford's secret and yet I found it to be a tad dull when it was revealed. I also felt it was a little rushed through and tied up with a bow too quickly. If it was really that big of a deal that the guy ran off and hid in a different country, a simple interview to "clear" his name or state his side seemed a bit too easy. If it was that easy to clear his name then why wasn't this done earlier. I don't know, I think I was waiting for something a bit more profound with him in hiding and it was a big miss for me.

*Scam Rental - So the movie started with Jade getting scammed but then nothing ever surfaced about the scam again. So who scammed her? Does Ford care that someone used his place and knew alot about his place to profit off of him? Is no one going to figure out who the scam artist is so it doesn't happen again?

So the movie wasn't the best one of the season but it is worth the watch. the scenery, chemistry and strong female lead is what made this enjoyable for me.
