Review: This is going to be short and sweet tonight. To be honest, which I always am with my reviews, this one was so boring. I could not get into this movie at all and I actually fell asleep a couple of times. The story was super slow and frankly not really interesting at all. The main stars had zero chemistry and I wasn't feeling it at all.
I thoroughly enjoyed the music and thought there were some standout singers like Luke James. That guy can sing. I admit I didn't like Ashleigh Murray's voice at first but by the end for her big solo I thought she had a nice voice. I only finished watching the movie just to hear the music. Anyone else find it funny that when they were auditioning people 70% of them couldn't sing and then a couple of scenes later they were a stellar choral group? Thought that was funny. Also how about how everyone was dying for Melanie Star (Michelle Williams) to sing and then when she finally shows up she sings about 15 seconds.
Oh, and what is with her reaction when she finds out why Luke didn't go to New York with her? Really? You just found out that he was going to go with you and it was your father who stopped him. And you react like that? Wow. If I was him I would have left the room a lot quicker than he did.
In a nutshell, the music was good the plot...not so much. This one is definitely one to pass on.
