Review: I was really looking forward to this movie. Janel Parrish was phenomenal in Holly & Ivy and Ryan Paevey...well he is Mr. Darcy after all. So pair these two together and you should have a dynamic duo right? Wrong! Yikes this was rough. I did not enjoy these two paired together. Absolutely no sparks! I did not enjoy Janel Parrish (Paige) in this role at all. Ryan Paevy (Dylan) was ok. Not stellar. Just ok.
The plot was good albeit I don't understand why the parents didn't tell their daughter they were selling the place. Especially when they knew they had a viable offer on the table. The movie seemed to move really slow and because of the lack of chemistry, the
"I like you and the time we spent together" speeches near the end seemed rushed and phony.
Now don't get me wrong, with a score of 3 there had to be some redeeming qualities right? Well the father/son relationship with Ryan Paevy (Dylan) and Azriel Dalman (Noah) was absolutely sweet. Paevy seemed right at home acting as a father and they had a great dynamic. Very believable. The scenery was stellar, some of the costuming was beautiful and most of the supporting cast was great.
An okay movie overall but the lack of chemistry between the leads is really what killed this one for me.
