Review:
Meh. This is the last installment of the GACFamily Christmas 2021 movies and unfortunately they didn't save the best for last. With so many movies this year and so many of them being superb, I'm not sure why they chose this as their closing movie as it was mediocre at best.
The movie was really slow and lacked any real solid plot. Holly (Busby) just quit her job and is determined to help her family's annual Christmas Toy Drive which is in jeopardy. She is convinced that Jack Kane (Page) is the answer to her problems. Jack is a pro baseball player...ok...and for some reason she thinks the way to get him to help her is to help him rediscover the meaning of Christmas. For some reason he agrees to a few days worth of Christmas cheer and along the way rediscovers his love for Christmas and falls in love with the girl. Unfortunately his presence doesn't help her charity and she gets so sad. Only for her knight in shining armor to save the day by calling all of his contacts after he fails and not before which would have been smarter.
So the plot, as explained about, was super weak and I was really bored. Surprising as usually Page and Busby can hold their own in movies and keep me entertained. Do I have Christmas movie fatigue after watching a billion Christmas movies since October? Perhaps. I may just have to give this one another chance.
I found there to be zero chemistry between Holly and Jack. He was in the friend zone from the beginning and should have stayed there consider the fires were never hot and always lukewarm. I didn't feel any real spark or kindling to even progress the relationship further than the friend zone but for some reason the movie took them there in true romance movie fashion.
Didn't like this one and was super disappointed that GACFamily left their premiere Christmas movie season end with such a dismal movie.
