Synopsis:
In these interconnected movies, Jennifer and Meg Swift are sisters who couldn’t be closer despite living hours apart. Jennifer is in Salt Lake City, running a successful restaurant she started with her late husband and raising her teenaged son Simon. Meg stayed in their hometown of Hazelwood, helping their parents run the local bakery. This Christmas is the family’s first since the passing of Uncle Dave who owned the town’s beloved theater, The Madison, where many memories were made over the years. When Jennifer and Simon return home for the holiday, they become wistful for one more Christmas at The Madison, despite that it’s for sale and in need of repairs. Meanwhile, Meg is helping Jennifer’s restaurant staff in Salt Lake prepare for a Christmas competition among local restaurants with the winner earning money for the charity of its choice. With the sisters switching cities leading up to the holiday, they find a new sense of purpose and discover what they both truly need in life and in love.

Review:
Last week we watched the first part of the two part Sister Swap movies starring Kimberly Williams-Paisley and Ashley Williams. This week was part two. Was it better than the terrible movie from last week? Did we learn more about the chaos that was movie one? Simple answer to both questions...NO. I thought it couldn't get worse than last weeks Sister Swap: A Hometown Holiday and then I watched this one.
This movie was so boring. It is supposed to be the storyline that runs parallel to the first movie so it did have some tie ins which were done fairly well. Overall I actually like the parallel storyline concept however I just think it could have been done in a way that made more sense...like Sliding Doors starring Gwyneth Paltrow. There was so much potential to make this better. You actually just needed one 2 hr movie and could have told the whole story and it would have been much better seeing them run side by side. As it stands it was two stand alone movies that didn't really have much content or meat and were just plain boring.
I do like Ashley Williams...except in this role. She was beyond irritating and way to over the top bubbly. Almost to the point of ditsy. There was zero chemistry between her and Keith Robinson and the only time she was good on screen was the limited moments she played opposite her sister.
This is a hard pass from me. I would never watch any of these movies again as they were just terrible.
