Review:

Christmas House 2: Deck Those Halls was a refreshing change from your typical Hallmark movie. It was the second movie in the "The Christmas House" movie series.

Last year we met the Mitchell family and their affinity for having an over the top Christmas house. This year we find the Mitchell brothers Mike (Buckley) and Brandon (Bennett) thrust into a TV competition to see who can build/create the best Christmas House. What follows is a hysterical competition between two brothers and the impact of their competition on their relationship, their family, and their significant others. There are some subplots involving their parents in a risque Christmas play, Mike wanting to propose to his girlfriend, and Brandon's insecurities with always being under the shadow of his movie star brother, and each story works extremely well together.

The highlight of this movie is the antics between Buckley and Bennett. Boy do these two work well together. Their physical comedy and their banter is exceptional. There were a few chuckles at my house as a result of these two. And let's not forget Treat Williams. Loved him. His little "cameo" in his son's show right at the end was so funny. He is so suited for this role in Christmas House. In fact the whole cast is great together. They interact like a real family and show both the good and the ugly within the family dynamic.

I really enjoyed this movie and hope you do too.
