Review: "The Great Christmas Switch" was the second original premiere movie for the new GAC Family station. I wasn't really sure how this one would go but I was pleasantly surprised. It was a solid movie and was written well. At first I was skeptical as I found it irritating that they kept telling you in the first 10 mins or so of the movie where you were so you could figure out which twin you were seeing. I couldn't understand why they kept telling you on screen as the two were completely different looking at first. One had brown hair and was a conservative mom, and the other had long blondish hair and was a little more "party girl." It was totally obvious who you were watching.

That aside, Sarah Lind was OK in the "twin" role playing both Sophia and Kaelynn. There was quite a bit of humour, especially when they first switched places, which really added to the movie. Lind delivered the comedy well through words as well as her mannerisms and overall awkwardness of the characters. The way she played Kaelynn (but really was Sophia) was really funny when she was around Kaelynn's husband. Her awkwardness, never looking him in the eye and always running out of the room was pretty funny. Not sure how Patrick (Dillon Casey) couldn't figure out it was his estranged wife but nevertheless it was funny. Lind was able to show chemistry with both co-stars which I found amazing. I'm not sure how someone is able to do that with two love story lines but it was impressive.

The story was well written and I actually liked how one of the twins was already married at the beginning of the movie. I was a bit skeptical at first as typically you would have both twins fall in love with people while they were posing as the other twin, so I wasn't sure how they were going to play out the part of the one twin going to live with the husband and pretending to be his wife. That was handled well and the eventual reconciliation of the two estranged spouses was a really nice ending to the movie.

Overall an okay movie and I would recommend you watch it at least once.
