Review:

Yikes. This was a disaster. What was I thinking watching this one? I knew it would be a train wreck when, after the flashback, two grown up adults were singing very poorly and wearing elf costumes. My suggestion is to stay far away from this one as there are PLENTY of other Christmas movies showing right now on other networks. You will not be missing anything by missing out on this one.

Before I get into what I didn't like, let me tell you about two things that I did like:

1) Flashback - One highlight of this movie was the first scene with young Maddy and young Cooper. I thought both of the child actors did a great job and I especially liked the young boy that played little Cooper.

2) Fake couple - The other highlight was the antics and comedy of David Pinard and Bukola Ayoka (Jackie) when they pretended they were a couple to hide Coopers real feelings towards Maddy and to hide his grand gesture that he had prepared. I thought they both were funny and worked well playing opposite of each other.

What I didn't like...let me count the ways:

Plot - What was the plot really? There really didn't seem to be a point to the movie to be honest. A boy who's hidden his feelings for a girl his entire life. She has a boyfriend that's really not present. There's a component with Santa that doesn't really seem to have a point but I guess is to help her figure things out. Oh and she owns an event company where she's a singing elf at parties? Is that even a thing? The worst is she wants to be a singer...but she can't sing well? No conflict. Just nothing.

Chemistry - There was ZERO chemistry between the two lead characters. Friend vibes and only friend vibes. The male lead had more chemistry with the best friend than he did with Maddy.

Acting - Yikes. The acting was less than stellar. Alys Crocker was stiff and her lines and movements were forced. She wasn't the only one as other supporting characters were just as forced. Lines were delivered but with no emotion to them. There was over the top movement and actions that just made for a forced, jumbled mess.

Singing - Too much singing in the movie and it wasn't even good. The male lead was an ok singer but the lead actress...who's character wanted to quit her day job and pursue singing...she was NOT good. I had a hard time with watching this and there was way too much of it.

I could probably speak alot more about this but I am going to move on. This movie was a train wreck. It's forgettable. Bad acting, bad plot. Just not worth it.
