Review:

I loved this movie. It was original, funny, had great chemistry and was a welcome change to recent movies that I have watched. I have already watched it a second time already!

The good:

*Donna Benedicto - Absolutely loved her in this role. I have seen her in numerous movies as a supporting actress but never as a lead. She was wonderful. She was quirky and her comedic timing, gestures and faces were wonderful. Totally bought into the "taken off guard" vibe when she realizes that she is in the midst of the man she saw in her dreams. Some may feel that she is extremely immature but I took this in a different way. She was school girlish in a way but this was a dream from childhood and she sees it coming true. It works for me.

*Markian Tarasiuk - A solid male lead. He was charming and had great on screen presence.

*Chemistry - The chemistry in this movie was great. From the beginning I enjoyed the interaction between the two leads. Would love to see them play opposite again together.

*Plot - I really enjoyed this plot. It was unique to say the least. Besides the main plot there was alot of other sub-plots going on here that could have been a recipe for disaster. Funny enough...it worked for me. Surprising as there were so many like:

  1. Main plot - young girl places piece of wedding cake under pillow and dreams of the man she is to marry. She then meets that man through her sister and future brother in law.

  2. Subplot 1 - Sister is getting married and Carrie is the maid of honour, & wedding cake designer.

  3. Subplot 2 - Carrie writes for love advice to a popular blog and follows the advice given It just so happens that the person behind the blog is none other than her love interest Jason.

  4. Subplot 3 - Old school friend of Carrie's comes back and her father tries to setup Carrie with him. He is a creep.

  5. Subplot 4 - When Jason's best friend, who is the groom, finds out that Jason is the person behind the love blog he has to keep the secret from everyone which causes issues with his fiance.

The not as good:

Old friend/creepy car sales man - I did not like this particular plot. Seeing as there were so many sub-plots I didn't really see the need to have the old friend vying for Carrie's affection. Didn't like him nor the time spent watching it. He was creepy and annoying.

Groom hives - I can get behind the groom having issues keeping a secret from his fiance but hives, itching and turtle necks? Yeah didn't like.

Overall this movie was enjoyable. Highly recommend it and it was a welcome change.

I have never seen Markian Tarasiuk (Jason) in a movie before and he was charming. Not to mention Donna Benedicto was in her element in this movie. A charming movie and I will definitely watch it again.
