Review:

The Wedding Veil is the first in a trilogy of movies starring Hallmark leading ladies Lacey Chabert, Autumn Reeser and Alison Sweeney. The trilogy follows longtime friends who find a mysterious antique veil fabled to unite its bearer with her true love. This movie centred around Lacey Chabert's character Avery's journey while the veil is in her possession.

This movie was amazing. From the first scene until the last scene it had my attention. A fabulous move by Hallmark to pair 3 of their top actresses together and boy did they shine. They didn't have a lot of scenes together but when they were together they looked like they were old friends. So easy and loving with each other. I know that this story focused primarily on Lacey Chabert's character, however I really liked how they included the other actresses throughout the entire movie through video chat, phone calls and then all together again at the end of the movie. That was very well done.

The chemistry between Chabert (Avery) and McGarry (Peter) was electric. From the first moment they had their "meet-cute" they were dynamic on screen. They were fun, had great banter and showed genuine attraction for each other. I bought every second of them as a couple and enjoyed them immensely. Chabert was at her best in this role. I thought she was cute, fun and was playful. McGarry was just as pleasant. Outside of his Boston accent (which was hit or miss) he was an amazing lead. He was good looking, charming, and played hot/cold so well. I could feel his struggle with his feelings over liking someone he thought was engaged. I would love to see both Chabert and McGarry play opposite each other again in a main role. I certainly hope they bring them back for the next 2 installments of this movie series.

I enjoyed the plot of this movie alot as well as the overall plot of the trilogy. The story of finding and restoring a painting was great however what I liked more was the misunderstanding that Peter had relating to Avery. I found that very intriguing and well done throughout the whole movie. They had their cute "first date" and right at the end he sees the veil she purchased and incorrectly thinks she is engaged. Once sweet and charming, he turns cold and aloof. Understandably as he thought she was leading him on. This misunderstanding was handled well throughout most of the movie and you could see the struggle he had. He was falling for a woman that he thought was taken and he struggled with that. I wondered through most of the movie when he would figure it out and I thought the writers handled this whole story well and it kept me engaged. As for the larger plot of the mystery veil providing a path to love for the one in possession...it is very much like "Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants." As far fetched as it may be, I liked the plot and am looking forward to watching the next two installments of this movie.

A special shout out to the wardrobe department on this movie. Well done! Lacey Chabert's wardrobe was magnificent. I don't think I saw a single outfit in this movie that I didn't think was exceptional. She looked so amazing in the dresses, coats, headbands. Everything. And the suits for Kevin McGarry? Just thank you.

A fantastic start to this movie trilogy and it is one that I will be watching again.
